For this project, we were commissioned to redesign and update the Moka Bros restaurant located in Taikoo Li Mall, Chengdu. Moka Bros is a healthy fast-casual brand that we originally designed with scalability in mind—ensuring that each location could replicate the core concept while remaining fresh and distinct (without becoming a franchise). Part of the brand’s identity involves refreshing the design every few years, and this redesign for the Chengdu location, originally created in 2014, was done in 2018.

In the new concept, we maintained the signature open façade that draws guests into the space. However, we reimagined the backdrop by positioning the bar as the central feature. The bar now connects both to the kitchen and the façade, allowing for seamless operational flow. The recognizable white wall, a hallmark of all Moka Bros locations, remained a key design element, reinforcing brand consistency while enhancing the functionality of the space. This redesign successfully balanced brand identity with operational efficiency and customer experience.
