For this residence located in the outskirts of Beijing, in the small town of Miyun near the Great Wall of China, we began with a basic house structure but essentially had to rebuild everything—walls, ceilings, and floors—starting from scratch. For the exterior, we selected local stones and utilized traditional techniques to harmonize the home with the surrounding mountains. We applied the same approach to the roof. Inside, we opted for simple, natural materials such as terrazzo, concrete, and wood, creating a minimalist yet inviting atmosphere. I also personally designed key furniture pieces, including the living room sofa and dining room table, adding a custom touch to the project.
